Our first weekday at my mom's house was definitely against our norm. My mom had a "procedure" on Monday morning, and Lilly and I volunteered to pick her up afterwards. While we waited in the waiting room, Lilly lounged on every chair, finally picking her favorite. I was so relieved when we were finally called back. When Lilly saw my mom hooked up to IVs and in the hospital bed, she immediately ran over and said "you otay damma?" She kept asking her if she was okay. To make her feel better, she gave her Bear-bear and blankie and sang her Twinkle Twinkle. I honestly think it made my mom feel better.
After mom recouped a little throughout the day, she was feeling well enough to venture out for a girl's date at the mall. We spent her into the poor house at Gymboree, waited around while I ran to the bathroom to get sick (by the way, it's super hard to vomit quietly in a public restroom), rode the train, rode the escalator about 100 times, and went out to dinner at Olive Garden. It was my first full girl's day, and it was MUCH needed.

She calls them "up-downs". I swear, we could spend a day at the mall, riding the escalators and "alligators" (elevators), and she wouldn't know the difference between that and Disney Land.

She was SOOOO excited.

My mom has been my partner every night as we get Lilly settled down for bed, and I don't think I've seen either of these two happier.
