Slowing Down

The first few days of this trip were miserable. Lilly being sick did us in, and we were so looking forward to everything slowing down during the last half. We got up, again, bright and early, to drive 3 hours to Wenatchee to visit Grandma Griffin. Lilly was feeling much better by this point, so the drive was tolerable. I even got in a nap!

Grandma treated us to an amazing lunch of sandwiches and beef soup, then it was off for naps before heading to the Rocky Reach Dam. We always visited when we were little, and it was fun to take my own family. There were no fish, but Lilly still had fun looking at the fish murals on the walls. We then made a detour to the waterfront market for some cheese and fruit, and splashing in the river. It was much-needed, relaxing downtime. 

We eased out of a very stressful half of the week into a very enjoyable evening of playing Phase 10. Just like the good old days! I think that was the night Lilly started to round the corner. While giving her a bath that night, her gums started to gush blood...to the point of making me think she lost a tooth.

First thing grandma did was pull out crayons.

This is great. Jack leaned over and asked Susan for a kiss, all the while secretly pouring water onto her pants. 

Don't worry, she got him back.

Right as we were leaving the dam, a train passed by. Lilly was SO excited. The conductor saw her clapping and honked the horn just for Lilly.

Jack loves to pick on dad. While dad napped, he covered his face with grass.
