About Time

I'm suffering from the Sunday night blues, so I figured I'd take it out on the blog.

A few fun things have happened since my last post. Babysitting almost killed me last week. I don't know how I managed to watch Joel and Lilly, and on a few days, 3 other kids, make dinner, clean the house, run errands, AND go to the gym, but I did. I felt like a superhero at times, but by the end of the week, I was barely hanging on. I was so tired! I'm holding out hope that I'll get used to it soon. Friday night, we watched Joel while Erin and Drew went out for Erin's birthday. Ryan ran out to grab a pizza, so while he was gone, I bathed both babies and attempted to put them to bed. Joel hated the bath, hated waiting while I dressed Lilly, and didn't want his bottle. Kevin, Jan, and Colton came over for a bit, so I got a small break while they played with the babies.

Saturday was a busy day for us...err, me. My step-sister is getting married on Thursday, and we were invited to her bridal shower. The invite said it was a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" theme, so I dressed to match. I was smitten with the Tiffany blue and damask theme, and couldn't help but feel like I need to find a reason to throw a party, just so I can do some of the cute things we saw. I was only away from my Lilly for a couple of hours, but I missed her like crazy.

When I got home, she was napping, so I took the opportunity to build my present to myself. Ryan and I agreed that some of my babysitting money is going to be set aside as my "fun money." It helps me stay sane during a hard day of babysitting. My first present to myself was a clock from IKEA. I'd been ogling it for some time. When we went to finally buy it, they were out of stock and weren't planning on getting another shipment. I was SO bummed. That always happens to me! Well, I got home, did some hunting online, and manged to find the LAST one on the planet, I swear. Seriously, you can't find this dang clock anywhere anymore. It came while I was at the bridal shower, so I was super excited to put it together. I was torn between putting it in our dining room, or putting it in the hallway. For now it's in the hallway, since we have extra-wide halls, and I really do love it. Lilly can't get to it, so that's a perk.

Even though I wanted a nap more than anything in the world, the next few hours were spent cooking. I made the fixings for a Cafe Rio smorgasbord at Emma's house. We all ate so much (I had 4 bites instead of my usual 3), that we spent a good 30 minutes in a food coma before playing the board game "Battle of the Sexes"....the guys won. It was a long day, but it was filled with good food, good company, and fun decorating for me. Yay!!
We survived the week!
It was held at a place called the "Awful Waffle" in Provo. We had quite an adventure trying to find the place. Turns out, I'm a really crappy navigator.
Oh, and I promised I'd put up some pictures of our fun finds from Target the other week, so I tucked in some of those...

Playing XBOX with Uncle Colton
Lilly's new whale bath caddy
Whale faucet cover
Pre-bath kisses
"Really, mom? I have to share my bath?"

Cleaning the baby

Target has these cute, colorful canvases. Once I get several more, I'll have a fun wall in Lilly's room.
Isn't it cute?! I'm not sure what to put on the shelves yet, so I moved over some frames. Oh, and Willow calls dibs on the bottom shelf.

The Cafe Rio spread. We have so many leftovers! I'm in heaven!!
I think it's safe to say she likes the new ottoman.
