Undecided

Yet again, Ryan and I proved to be as lame as we sometimes feel. Jan and Kevin came down yesterday afternoon to allow us to go out for the day while they watched Lilly. Secretly, I think they just wanted to steal Lilly. We had initially planned to go see a movie, but all of the movies involved waiting for 2 hours before the next showtime. While we waited, we decided to go to lunch. Ryan's favorite, of course. We went to the Blue Plate Diner. He got his usual bison burger with cheese and bacon, and I tried something new. I got the BBQ chicken salad. It sounded good on the menu, but I didn't really like it. They didn't specify that it would be covered in corn, so I spent the whole time picking corn out of the salad, since I'm not allowed to have corn. I ate most of the chicken and then was too full. It was killer for me to watch Ryan eating his waffle fries. Those are what I would usually go for.

Since we arrived at the Blue Plate Diner at lunch time, it was packed and we had to wait quite a while for seats, service, and food. Our 2:30 movie was missed because of the wait. We drove back down to our neck of the woods and decided to drive around Traverse Mountain, drooling over all of the gorgeous mansions. I poked fun at Ryan that this wasn't just a drive, it was torture! I would so love a house. After that, we decided to wander the DI. Ry is in need of a new desk. We didn't find a desk, but we did find something I've been wanting. I've been looking around online for a plate holder for when all 4 of my season plates are complete. I couldn't find anything under $30, so I gave up. Well, I found one at DI for $1!!! I got a plate holder and Ryan got a book. I could spend all day wandering that place, looking at all of the strange things people have donated.

After our "date" afternoon, we just chuckled at how hard it is for us to go out. We can never decide on what we want to do, so we just end up driving around. I told Ryan that we'd have to sit down and write out date ideas, in the event that we're gifted another afternoon of freedom. Having no money certainly doesn't help. :P  Once we were home and grandma and grandpa had left, we both just plopped down on the couch. We were both so exhausted for some reason. The warm sun was pouring in through the window, the patio door was open, letting in the cool breeze. It was nice to snuggle up for a bit. Then we decided to have dinner on the porch. I put one of our old rugs out there, since the deck is made of a fiberglass-type material and it worries me that Lilly will get splinters. The rug on the porch is a little redneck, but it's cute. Lilly played in her bouncer while we munched on salad. I could get used to that!

Snuggled up on the couch. Ryan used my thighs as a cup holder.
