Natalie & Ryan: St. Patrick's Day in Pink

I've got to say, St. Patrick's Day is my least favorite holiday. As an adult, most of my non-LDS friends just use it as an excuse to drink, so I don't really see the point. I'm sure it will be more fun when I can celebrate with Lilly, by hiding gold coins and dying things green. But for now, I just don't like it.

When we were getting ready for church, sure I could have had us all dress in green, but I was too excited about mine and Ryan's matching coral pink shirts. My mom got him a coral pink shirt/tie combo at Kohl's, and it matched my new pink shirt perfectly. We got lots of comments at church about how we must have been "blowing off" St. Patrick's Day. I told them I was just trying to see how many times I could get pinched.

Sacrament meeting went pretty smoothly. Lilly sat in-between Ryan and I and fed herself Cheerios. She usually just grabs as many as she can fit in her hand, and then smears her palm all over her face in an effort to see how many she can get in....I should have brought more snacks. It was Sunday school and Relief Society that were challenging. Lilly doesn't nap on Sundays because church throws her off her routine, so she tends to get pretty cranky. In Relief Society, as we were singing the opening song, Lilly was sitting on the floor, playing with a hymn book, and when the song ended, all everyone heard in the dead silence was "RIP!" She tore out the first, blank page of the book, totally embarrassing mommy. Once I took it away, she spent the rest of the time playing with other babies (mostly she just got beaten up by another baby who wanted her toys), playing with the bishop's wife's shiny shoes, and taking bites of the small papers that were handed out. Literally, the bishop's wife held up her paper, and there was a perfect bite taken out of it. I looked over at Lilly right as she was finishing chewing and swallowing the bite. I'm so glad today is over. It's been too long...
