Personal Trainer

It's been about 6 weeks since surgery. I've had some ups and downs with my health, but overall, I feel great. I'd say I have SO much more energy. I don't even crave naps anymore. Crazy, I know!! If I can find the time in a day, I like to take Lilly out for a walk around our neighborhood. Once the weather warms up, a group of women from our ward take their kids and dogs out for LONG walks every morning, so I'm going to join them for that. Until then, I have to brave the cold by myself. I really enjoy the walks. Last week, I wanted to go for a walk so bad. I got Lilly all dressed up and ready, only to remember that the stroller was still in the trunk of the car...at work with Ryan. It took some creative thinking, but I managed to come up with a way to salvage the walk. I strapped Lilly in the Baby Bjorn and headed out. Let me tell ya, my walk was much harder with a 23 pound baby hanging from my shoulders. She loved it though. I'd do it again!

Last night I decided to try and add in more official cardio workouts. I started slow with 15 minutes on the elliptical and some sit-ups on the exercise ball. Something about this big, red ball gets Willow hyper. Either she'll jump up and sit on my leg, holding on for dear life as I move back and forth. Or she'll sit behind me so that she can swat at my hair every time my head dips down. I imagine her as my personal trainer, yelling "keep going! You can do it! Only ten more!" What a good kitty.

The Baby Bjorn adventure! All I had to do was use a binky clip to clip toys to my shirt so that they wouldn't fall if she let go.
