I had a lot of time to think about what I wanted to paint, but I just couldn't decide. When I got there, I spent a few minutes browsing the shelves of items. I came across a large mixing bowl. I had initially intended to do the damask pattern on it, like I usually do, but I just wasn't feelin' it today. I started drawing it on in marker, but realized it wasn't looking good and I really didn't want to be there for 4 hours. So, instead, I decided to torture Lilly and put baby hand prints in every color, all around the bowl. Easier said than done, but after getting one hand print, I was kind of committed. About three hand prints in, she had enough. We gave her a little breather and then tried for a few more. Once the paint would touch her hand, she would clasp it closed, TIGHT, and refused to open it. Grandma stepped in and gave her some snuggles until she fell asleep. I think most of our problem stemmed from the fact that it was her nap time. I wasn't giving up on my bowl! While she slept, I painted her hands and got the remaining prints that I needed. I was actually a lot easier to get them while she was sleeping than when she was awake.
On top of the bowl, I made another spoon rest for the kitchen. The other one fell behind the oven and got chipped. I also made my mom something with Lilly's hand print to put in her office. When we went last time, I made me and Jan something with hand prints, and I think she was a little sad that I didn't make her something. Now that we're home, Lilly has been bathed and is taking a proper, no-handpainting nap. I think I may get one, too.
P.S. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the finished products. I'll post pictures when I get them back.

| A grandma's touch. If you look closely, she's actually chewing on her blanket. |
