The Day That Wouldn't End

As if yesterday morning wasn't enough, I got home and was so hysterical, I decided to call my doctor. My gallbladder pain was so intense, I decided not to risk it. Once in my usual spot, laying in the world's most uncomfortable bed, hooked up to machines and IV's (I'm apparently still dehydrated), they started their work. My blood pressure was so insanely low, it scared me and the nurses. When I was pregnant with Easton, I had high blood pressure at around 138/100. This pregnancy, my blood pressure has been perfect. 123/70. When they took it at the hospital, it was 94/52. In all my years of being a CNA and being in nursing school, I had never taken or seen a blood pressure so low. I thought to myself "wouldn't it be something if I burst my gallbladder?" My doctor was torn between it being preeclampsia or a gallbladder attack, and the low BP was the answer. Gallbladder it was. And not just gallbladder, she was worried that I have pancreatitis. They wanted to do a ton of blood tests and ultrasounds of my liver and whatnot. I opted out. I had been there for hours already, Ryan was still at work, I had the worst day of my life, the baby was fine, so I told them I didn't want the tests. Besides, I was told even if something was wrong, they couldn't do anything with my gallbladder. I've only ever learned to sleep off my gallbladder attacks, so that's what I intended to do. My doctor put me on bedrest and told me to go back in if the pain got worse.

Ryan took "bedrest" quite literally and has insisted I stay in bed all day. I woke up to breakfast in bed (that thankfully I was able to keep down), he helped me fold laundry while in bed, and then just now served me dinner in bed. The gallbladder still hurts, but it's not getting worse. So at least there's that. As far as emotionally, I'm okay. I'm still beyond upset about everything that happened, but then I step back and think about the big picture. Those people, that seem to hate their lives so much that they have to take it out on me, are stuck there. They have that thankless, lousy job to look forward to as a career. Day in and day out of each other's gossip and attitudes. I look at it as me finally getting out. I don't EVER want to turn into the lowlives that they are. I have much bigger and better things to look forward to. I have a husband who quite literally qualifies as the world's best, nice living standards, a pretty car, cute kitties, and soon-to-be the most adorable baby. I'm okay with that. The other things will work themselves out. They always do.

The IV burst as she was putting it in. My view was blocked and I was looking at Ryan's face when the nurse put it in, but the look that shot across Ryan's face said it all. He said my blood started shooting out. I could feel it spraying everywhere and running down my fingers. At least he didn't pass out. I think he may be able to handle birth :P

See the BP reading? 105/58. That was as high as it got the entire time. I laughed because they noted that my heart rate was elevated when I first got in. Hmm, wonder what could have caused that.
