Park Pals

I'm not sure if I ever officially mentioned that I don't babysit Joel anymore. It'd been a few months since we'd seen Erin and Joel, so Erin and I arranged a park/picnic date for the kids on Friday. All week, it was rainy and cold, but that day was beautifully sunny. I just wanted to lay down on our picnic blanket and soak up the sun, but someone had to watch Lilly. I think we were there for a good 2 hours, and Lilly ran around and played the entire time. I couldn't even get her to sit still to eat, she just ran around with her sandwich. It's nice that she's a little more independent when it comes to playing. I was able to watch her go down the slide all by herself, from a distance. It's hard letting go sometimes, but fun to watch her play and explore on her own. Getting her to leave the park willingly was a nightmare. Suffice it to say, she went straight down for a nap when we got home.

Giving Joel hugs. The 3rd picture is my favorite. His face is one of confusion and panic.

This lady showed up with a little dog, and every kid at the park ran over to pet it.

Oh, you know, just using his face to assist in getting up.

She loved this thing the most. I had panic attacks every time she started to climb it, and I envisioned her smacking her face.

She has this cheesy little smile now, where she rolls her top lip over her teeth.

Trying to pick up the dog.

Even Erin got in on the fun.
