Easter, round 2, although moved inside due to weather, was a success. And, may I just say, I'm kind of relieved that we had to do everything inside, because pictures were lacking, and now I feel somewhat off the hook for scrapbooking this event. I volunteered to bring my normal Easter dinner contributions; deviled eggs, my annual creative Easter cake, and funeral potatoes. As always, my partner in crime was Pinterest, and I give it all credit for my ideas. My other partner in crime was my mom/Easter Bunny. She was able to brighten the night of 2 very cranky little girls, with her silly toy hunt. And whatever bad moods still existed, Karder was able to help get rid of with giggles. I'd say Lilly is one happy little girl this morning, blowing away on her new flute (bad move on my part to tell her to pick it up). Gotta go, this leftover ham isn't going to eat itself!

Coloring in church. It made me realize that we're probably confusing her by telling her that she's allowed to color in certain books, but then we freak out if she starts coloring in her normal books, or, say, the Hymn books.

Post-nap. Piggies are gone.

I hated this stupid rocket toy that my mom got Karder. Jack spent most of the evening shooting me with it. This picture captures Jeff's revenge in a perfect combination of acceptance on my part, fear on Jack's part, and total I'm-so-not-going-to-stop-this on Susan's part.

As is tradition, grandma got to share her cake. "Grandma's great...she gives Lilly chocolate cake!"

Since our Easter celebration was delayed, my annual Easter cake was a post-Easter, tired bunny cake. This guy had a busy season, and is glad it's finally over.

Mom's cake was equally as adorable. Lilly would have eaten all these cute marshmallows if we'd let her.

We were all gathered around the table, discussing vacation plans, singing happy birthday to Jeff, and completely ignoring Lilly, sticking her fingers into the cake. This is her "I swear I didn't take that marshmallow off the cake" look.

She has a fascination with her elbows. She'll be the next elbow-Bach.

Lilly ADORES Karder, and was even more thrilled when he taught her how to blow bubbles in milk.

I made 72 of these bad boys, just for Jeff. It was an epic battle trying to keep everyone out of them before dinner actually started.

Lilly was beyond inconsolable during dinner, so we just put her to bed. When we went to get her up, this is what we found.

These have to be the best pictures from the night. My step-sister, Tami, is expecting her baby any day now. We tried to explain to Lilly that there was a baby in Tami's tummy. Tami let her put her hands on her tummy, to which Lilly pushed and poked SUPER hard, making the baby kick. Once Lilly understood that there was definitely something in there, she tried to lift Tami's shirt to get a better look. You know, completely NOT caring that we all have personal bubbles. But the absolute best was when Lilly's little, curious baby brain kicked in, and she realized that there was way more to this than just having a "baby in her tummy." She kept squatting down in front of Tami, to get a good look at, ehh, how do I put this tactfully... the baby's "escape route," AKA, her crotch! It was hilarious! I don't know how, but she totally understood that the baby had to get out somehow, and that was probably the best way. Dr. Lilly is in the house!
