Mr. & Mrs. Griffin

After finally falling asleep well after 1, when my eyes popped open at 7 the next morning, again, I wanted to cry from how tired I was. But, I was super proud of myself for not having my meltdown yet. With everything I've had to do for the wedding/reception/guests, my mom and I were placing bets for how long it would take me to completely snap. I came close the night before, while driving everyone home late at night, but the meltdown never happened.

Since we were to be in the temple for the sealing, we dropped Lilly off with my dad and Grandma Griffin, so they could watch her. We got to their hotel a bit early so we could chat with them, and apparently so Lilly could mooch their breakfast. Grandma was only too happy to see Lilly eating bananas. When we left her, we each got the cutest "bye, mommy!" and "bye, daddy!".

The sealing itself was so amazing. Jack and Susan started to enter the room, and I immediately started crying. I was trying to conceal the tears, but they were flowing so quickly, I couldn't stop them as they landed on my dress. When the ceremony was over, I had tear drop stains going down the front of me. The sealing itself was so sweet. Jack and Susan were blessed with being able to communicate with each other, and being able to support each other through everything. I couldn't believe that we were all there, watching my baby brother become a husband. It was surreal.

I had expected the two of them to take longer to come out of the temple, so I told my dad that he'd be safe if he got to the temple at about 11, but little did I know, that was definitely NOT safe. Ryan, dad, grandma, and myself all missed them coming out of the temple, because we were trying to find grandma and dad. I was bummed, not gonna lie. Not just for myself, but for dad. Oh well. The next hour or so, during pictures, was a bit brutal. We were told that it would rain and snow all morning, which it did, but by this time, it had cleared up and was beautifully sunny....yet extremely freezing and windy. Lilly had to keep her coat on, probably looking silly in all the pictures, and definitely making her super cranky. Again, oh well. We were so relieved when we were given the go-ahead to head on over to Tucano's for the luncheon.

After lots of amazing meat, lots of socializing, and lots of waiting for the Mr. and Mrs. to finally show up, we got to go home. What was the first thing I did?? I took a nap!! I needed a recharge before I continued working on the groom's cake and chalkboards for the reception. Neither of those happened, because dad invited Ryan and I to join them for dinner at Carver's Steak House. Despite having to wake Lilly up from her nap, and forcing her to be cranky for the entire drive, she turned into a little princess when we finally got to dinner. She spent the entire hour and a half while at dinner, sitting on my dad's lap, sharing his food, and snuggling with him. He was in heaven! She just couldn't understand why he wouldn't share his "grandpa's juice" (AKA wine) haha!

The night before, we had initially planned on having dad and grandma watch Lilly while I went to the bacherlorette party, but it fell through. He was bummed, because he was looking forward to taking Lilly out for ice cream. So, after dinner at Carver's, we let him salvage his chances at World's Best Grandpa, and went to grab ginormous Iceberg shakes. Snickers for dad, Rocky Road for me, plain chocolate for Ryan, and pralines for grandma. Ryan and I went to grab them by ourselves, while dad and grandma took Lilly back to their hotel room, and when we walked in with ice cream, Lilly was jumping on the bed while watching Ice Age. Dad loved getting to share his ice cream with Lilly, and she was only so happy to "allow" him to. I was SO thankful that the reception was the next day and not that night, because I didn't accomplish anything. Still no meltdown...

Dad thought he was being funny, taking Bear-bear from Lilly, but she didn't really care, so he just looked silly with a bear on him.
"Real funny, grandpa"
She ate all of grandma's banana

The only picture we got of us at the temple. I'll post more official pictures when we get them back from their photographer. We were WAY too busy and distracted to get more than this. Sorry!

I ordered the coconut shrimp. I was only able to eat one before getting full. Suffice it to say, I had the most delicious midnight snack, breakfast, and lunch the next day :P

She LOVED the mirror in the hotel room.

I'm glad dad was included in Lilly's first Iceberg ice cream experience. I wouldn't have it any other way!!
