Crash

Now that all the stress of the past few months is over, my body has decided to lash out against me. At first, I thought I was a champ, going back to the gym first thing the first Monday after the wedding. But then everything went downhill. I think Lilly picked up a bug from one of the other kids at the daycare, because Sunday morning came rolling around, and she was Little Miss Cranky Pants at church, and we couldn't figure out why until she started complaining of a "runny nose!". By the end of the day, she was definitely sick.

So, instead of week 2 at the gym, I started week 1 of skipping this week. Ugh, I hate this on and off stuff, it's emotionally draining and certainly DOESN'T get me in shape! But, in retrospect, it was all for the better. Like I said, my body decided to sabotage me, and Monday, Mother Nature knocked me down hard. I spent the entire day rolled up in a little ball on the couch. I so did not feel good, not just physically, but mentally. I haven't been taking my depression meds, and I could definitely tell. I think I'm starting to have that meltdown that my mom and I were waiting for a few weeks ago.

Tuesday was no better, and Lilly was still sick, so we skipped the gym again. When I started to get sick yesterday, I just wrote off the gym completely for this week, and instead focused on trying to maintain composure at home. It's really hard to keep a house running when you don't feel like it because your body hurts, and you just want to cry 24/7. Not being on my meds, I could literally feel myself going through hourly bouts of bipolar fits. I'd be laying on the couch, crying, then all of the sudden, I'd be manic and want to clean the whole house and be happy. It was SO confusing!!

I woke up this morning and couldn't open my eyes because of how bad my head hurt. When Lilly started screaming "RUNNY NOSE!" to get me to go get her, I just grabbed her and plopped her in bed with me. I thought we'd just stay there all day, but again, my bipolar had to step in and rear its ugly head. I went from wanting nothing more than my bed, to stripping it down, cleaning all the sheets, and scrubbing down the house. I contribute lots of Tylenol to making this possible. Lilly napped from 9:30-1:30, and even though it allowed me to get lots done, I kick myself for not taking a long nap, too. Oh well.

Here are some pictures to sum up the week...

I was scrapbooking at the table, when I heard soft snoring coming from the couch. Poor Little Sicky!

We tried eating at a place called the "Melty Way," a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich place. It was yummy, but I think I could save us $20 and make a grilled cheese that's just as good.

"Just Because" flowers.

She won't eat anything other than yogurt when she's sick.
And she definitely WON'T share
My AMAZING visiting teacher left a little survival kit on my porch. It was SO sweet! Life's most important Vitamin C's.

Tonight we had a "first" adventure. I was sitting down to start blogging, when Ryan came in and said "Lilly just locked herself in her room." I was like "yeah, so?" She's always shutting all the doors around here, and I thought that's what he meant. Little did I know, she literally LOCKED herself in. She was messing with the knob and managed to turn the lock, so when she shut the door, it stayed shut. She didn't panic, and I could hear her playing with her toys, oblivious to what was happening. We just unscrewed the knob and let ourselves in. Silly Lilly!
