What did Lilly and I do all day with no daddy? Well, most of the day stuck to the norm. Lilly seemed to be on a bit of a shoe tangent today. She spent a good part of the morning wearing her shoes on her hands. Then, while I wasn't looking, she went digging through my gym bag and pulled out my tennis shoes, then proceeded to walk around with them. It always makes me worried that she's going to twist her ankle.
After both babies had a nap, I let them loose. I had lots of tinkering to do, so I set Joel at one end of the hallway and let him and Lilly play together. He's full-blown crawling now, and Lilly seems sort of intrigued by that. She really enjoys getting down on the floor with him and giving him kisses, or just smiling at him while he moves along. Poor Joel still has to put up a fight for any toys he may wandered up to, but I think he is just enjoying being mobile.
After Joel went home, I gave Lilly a bath, and then we hung out in my bed for a bit. Lilly is in the phase of playing "nigh-nigh," where she'll say "nigh-nigh," and then lay down and close her eyes. She has even started to mimic snoring. Mostly she just breathes really heavily. It's fun to tuck her in with her blankie, and have her continuously jump up, say "nigh-nigh," plop down on the pillow, close her eyes for a second, and then do it all over again. I think I'm secretly just hoping that one day soon, she'll actually want to take a nap with me. I'm going through snuggle withdrawals. Maybe I just need to have another baby...
Anyway, when Ryan called this evening and asked me what fun stuff I had planned for the weekend, I realized that we aren't doing anything fun. With Ryan gone, and no one to give me nap breaks or let me sleep in, I'm thinking the next few days will just feel like any other day. As my mom used to say when we were kids, "no mun [money], no fun". I just look forward to having my hubby safely home.

He crawled over at full baby sprint to attempt pulling on the kitty's tail. Sorry, Joel, they're quick. They already know all of the tricks, having survived growing up with Lilly.
She seemed pretty excited to have her own half of the bed.
