Loving Our Life

The past few days have been spent visiting grandma, reading lots of books, and playing with lots of plastic balls. I've been teaching Lilly how to throw those little ball pit balls into a bin, and now it's her favorite thing to do. Whenever I'm busy doing something, I leave the baby gate open so that Lilly can get into her room. She always pulls out her favorite books, and then runs back to the living room to sit in her chair and read to herself. She'll point at pictures and make animal noises. It's precious.

Today, when we weren't dressing up like pirates and tattooing small children, Lilly and I had a fairly normal day. I got the babies home from a long day of pirating, and put them both down for a nap. Lilly played and talked for all of her nap, and Joel passed out for a solid 3 hours. Poor guy didn't get very long naps because of all of our pirate shenanigans. But, he was super happy when he woke up. Ryan came home early, so we were all able to play for a bit and then go to the gym together, instead of meeting there. Ryan waited for Drew to pick up Joel, while I took Lilly inside and got started on my workout.

Tomorrow Ryan is driving to Houston with Colton. Colton has a great, new job with Chevron, and is moving to the Lone Star State. Ryan volunteered to be his road trip buddy, and to help him get settled. I'm not going to lie, I'm sure gonna miss that kid. For the past month or two, Colton has been coming over at least once a week to hang out. I've really enjoyed getting to spend time with him. I know how hard living away from family, in a different state, can be. I wish him the best, and I'll definitely keep him in my prayers.

The point of this video is to show how much Lilly loves to say "uh oh!" Any time she drops something or needs help with something, she says "uh oh!" Usually there's a long pause between "uh" and "oh," like "uh............oh!"

Her favorite book is the one that my dad sent her for her birthday. Curious George and the Puppies. She LOVES looking at all of the kitties and doggies.

This next video reminds me of myself. We have an old home video of me when I was probably about 2 years old. I was sitting in my mom's bed, cramming a teddy bear into a shoe box, saying "bear-bear, nigh nigh!!" all angry-like. The other day, Lilly started to put her bear in a tote and would say over and over "nigh-nigh!," then give him her blankie.

She is still getting used to my mom's dog, Snickers. Mostly she laughs and runs away, but this last time we visited, she would laugh/scream in terror. Eventually she just hid behind the couch.

Jeff called Ryan to help fix his computer, so, while Ryan locked himself in the basement with the computer, mom got Lilly snuggles.
I've been really cold all day, so I snuggled up with Lilly. This is me, singing "You Are My Sunshine" to her. It instantly makes her snuggly and smiley. LOVE moments like this.

Junie wants Ryan to take her with him to Texas.
