Tea Party

My loving Ryan let me sleep in until 9:30 today. He always brings in Lilly to assist in waking me up, and I gotta say, I sure do love that cute smile first thing in the morning. While I finished cleaning up from yesterday's events (I had about two FULL loads of dishes to do), Lilly played around in the kitchen cabinets. I've learned that once a baby finds something new, they'll never forget it. She's ALWAYS in the kitchen, throwing around my Tupperware now. I decided to sit on the floor and have some fun with her this time. She found the small, two ounce containers that I had, and started to treat them like cups. Seeing her pretending to drink out of them, made me want to have a Tupperware tea party with her. I grabbed the apple juice and poured her a "glass." We were having a grand old time when Ryan came walking into the kitchen and stopped right where he was when he saw us. Once I explained to him that we were "having a tea party!!," he laughed and ran for the camera. What?! We were having fun!

With church being later in the afternoon, I always find myself wandering the house, looking for things to do. After my extensive day of cleaning yesterday, I didn't really have any chores that needed to be done. Okay, that's a lie, there's always chores to be done, but none of them sounded fun. I decided to get one of the chores that's been bugging me off my list. While Ryan played XBOX, I cleaned the storage unit. I made sure to keep the curtains open, so that Lilly could play with me through the glass. It didn't take me very long to organize and declutter, so I was back to being bored before long. 

I've been trying to take my projects a bit slower lately. But since I was so bored, I figured this quiet Sunday was the perfect time to finish a picture project that's been sitting around. I had a few of the pictures from our Thanksgiving trip to Wenatchee, WA printed up. Since Lilly was named after Grandma Griffin, nothing warms my heart more than these two pictures. One is of the exact second they finally met, and the other is of a candid kiss moment, when grandma was giving Lilly a kiss, and didn't know I was taking a picture. I framed them and put them around the "Lilly" wreath that all of my family made for me at the Goodrich baby shower. 

Once again, I was bored. Ugh, today dragged from my lack of things to do. I found a few fun things in the storage unit, and decided to incorporate them into the living room. Other than that, today was just mellow. I know I speak for both Ryan and myself when I say that this next week really needs to fly by. 

  

The newest decorating additions.

I moved the damask throw pillows into the bedroom, where they were originally intended to go, and finally put out these beauts...RYAN!! We need a house already. I'm sick of decorating this tiny living room. It looks cluttered! 

It only took me 9 months to get this lampshade up. Sheesh!
