Out of My Mind

Someone call the shrink, because I think I'm losing it! I got up at 6:45 to feed Lilly, and as every morning goes, I gauge my estimated amount of remaining sleep by how tired she seems while eating. If she starts to rub her eyes or doze off, I know I've got maybe two more hours if I'm lucky. If not, Ryan will bring her in and put her in the bed with me before he goes to work. She'll sit and play while mommy tries to sleep more. This morning she was super tired and fell back asleep when I put her in the crib. I went back to bed and thought to myself "you know, you could get up now, clean, and get a head start on the day....or you could sit here, trying to fall asleep, only to be miserably woken up when Lilly decides it's time to get up." I decided the first option sounded better. Can you believe it?! I chose getting up over sleep!!

Lilly only slept in until 8, but in that short hour, I was able to accomplish a lot. Once she was up, she played in her bouncer while I started on my very long, nit-picky, OCD list of things to do. I sat down last night to add a few things to it, and I ended up making it almost 50 items long. I didn't necessarily feel like doing any of it, but I knew if I didn't, I'd just be bored all day. So far, I've been able to mop the kitchen, entry way, dining area, laundry room, and both bathrooms, clean the laundry room, finally organize the storage closet and under the sink in our bathroom, scrub the kitchen, clean the shelves in the fridge, organize the shelves in the fridge, organize the cabinets in the kitchen, organize the pantry, organize the linen closet, and pack away all of Lilly's outgrown clothes. Lilly has been a tad fussy (it doesn't help that she keeps getting woken up from her nap by the LOUD upstairs neighbors), so I had to carry her around from room to room and have her help me with my chores. She actually enjoyed it.

Ry has school until late tonight (I HATE Wednesdays and Thursdays), so I'm probably going to be able to completely finish my to do list. Wow! I always tell Ryan that if he needs an easy answer to how I'm doing emotionally, he needs to look at the state of our house or watch to see if I clean anything. When I'm really depressed, I don't OCD at all. When I'm emotionally healthy, I clean a LOT! Thankfully I've been able to get back on all of my meds, and oh boy have I noticed a difference. I feel so mellowed out. The cleaning is very theraputic for me.

Sorry, no pictures. I really am losing my mind!!
