All Its Glory, Day 2

Wow, what a day. We got up bright and early...again...and headed straight over to campus. It was looking like it was going to be a very rainy day, but I didn't care because game day (the only day that really mattered) was supposed to be better. We started off at the bookstore. I had a list of things I wanted to get. Mostly stuff for Lilly. The first thing I found when I walked in, was a book called "My First Notre Dame Words." It was hilarious! I had to buy it for Lilly. We got her a few onsies, a hoody, a beanie, and a jersey that matched mommy and daddy's. I also bought us some cups, a Christmas ornament, a sign for our wall, a beanie, a hat for Ryan, and some Notre Dame family decals for our car. Just enough to look totally obsessed.

We worked our way through the store, and after we bought our stuff, my dad started offering to buy us stuff. Ry got an awesome cashmere sweater, some shorts, and a nice golf shirt. I got some sweat pants and two t-shirts. And Jack got a few shirts, some shorts, and a hoody. I think it's safe to say that we funded Notre Dame for the next year. Ha! After we got that out of the way, we spent the whole day wandering the campus.

Unfortunately for me, my back picked this week to give out. I was literally rendered unable to walk. It was only because of the lucky decision to bring my Oxycodone pain meds with me, that I was even able to function. So if I wasn't in excruciating pain that slowed down our group, then I was loopy and tired from the meds. But, it is what it is. I survived...barely.

The best part of the day came in the form of a surprise from my father-in-law. He knew that going to Notre Dame was my dream, so he contacted some people with ND and was able to get us 4 tickets to go to a luncheon with the defensive line and the head coach, Brian Kelly. It was absolutely amazing!! We even got to sit at the table with the director of athletic fundraising. This may not mean anything to anyone other than myself, but I'll relate it to a little girl being in Disney World, eating lunch in a room full of all the Disney princesses. Priceless.

Despite the rain, we were able to walk out of the tunnel to see the field, tour some of the stadium, see the "trumpets under the dome," tour the Golden Dome a bit, see the grotto, go into the Basilica, and take lots and lots of pictures. Suffice it to say, I crashed when we finally made it back to the hotel that night.

Isn't this awesome?! I think it's my favorite thing that we got.
