What a way to end a weekend! At church today, Ryan was finally set apart as 1st counselor of the Sunday school presidency. It was really special to get to be a part of that. After church, we raced over to my mom's house for the birthday BBQ for my dad. I was super excited to see Lilly. I always miss her like crazy when we leave her for the night. She was napping, so instead of waking her up, we started cooking. Just like the old days at my dad's house, we had BBQ chicken with the Griffin family secret BBQ sauce. Only my grandma, my dad, and I know the recipe, and they won't let me tell anyone. Sadly, the birthday cake wasn't much of a success. Well, I thought it was cute, but it's always a downer when your dad says "what is it?" Even after I explained that it was a golf cake, he goes "okay, so what's that white thing?" IT'S A GOLF BALL!! Oh boy! It was a fun dinner anyway, and dad has since been sent home to Seattle. I'm really happy that we could spend the weekend and his birthday together.
I forgot to tell a story about Friday. We were meeting up with my dad for dinner at Olive Garden (of course!), and he was running a bit late, so we decided to wander the mall to waste time. The second we walked in, Jack spotted a photo booth, grabbed Lilly, yelled "don't look!" and proceeded to take the funniest pictures ever. She didn't really seem all that thrilled, but I'll forever cherish this photo strip. Uncle Jack is hilarious!

Lilly was Jack's date at the wedding reception. She looked adorable in her pink and white polka dot dress. Thanks again, Grandma DD!!

He couldn't for the life of him figure out what the "brown stuff" was.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!
