I miss my Lilly Bugs! She's with grandma and grandpa again. They so graciously offered to take her, since they have the day off for Pioneer Day. Ryan and I drove up, dropped her off, and then he treated me to an awesome date night. For some AMAZING reason, the Bajio in Syracuse never converted to a Costa Vida, so I got to eat there for the first time in what's felt like forever. And, on top of that, I was able to eat my favorite pork salad again! Pregnancy total spoiled my addiction for a while. After a very delicious dinner, we decided to use some free movie passes that we've had forever. We were practically the only people in the theater. Okay, random subject change, but I feel like I should talk about it....
Ryan asked me if I wanted to go to a movie. Honestly, I didn't. After hearing about the Colorado shooting, and crying when I thought about how it really could have been any of us, I was just scared. Maybe it was an irrational fear, but I found myself saying a silent prayer that we'd be okay. When the movie started, I tried to think about how terrifying it would be if someone suddenly broke in, in a blaze of gunfire. I felt so terrible. Not only was I scared, but I felt like being at a theater was "too soon". Like we were all taking for granted the safety that we had. At one point, towards the end of the movie, a random man walked in and just stood there, looking at the crowd. I honestly tensed up and held my breath. I feel so terrible for the victims of the shooting. I can't imagine such an innocent night turning into such a nightmare. This tragedy just hit home for some reason. When I hear of stuff like this happening, I feel bad, but I let it go. Now that I'm a mom, the images of that young family with the 3 month old baby just haunt me. What if that happened while we were at a movie with Lilly? For now, I think I'll just be scared of movie theaters.

| Yes, I look terrible. I was patiently waiting (on a stack of booster seats) while they cleaned the theater. |
