Balancing

Today's post is about balancing. It occurred to me that I've been doing (or attempting) a lot of balancing lately. I'm trying to balance sleeping all day with being a mature, productive adult. I'm trying to balance giving into my cravings with making my own versions at home to save money. The opposite of that, I've been trying to balance being deathly ill with trying to stay healthy. It's not easy! But today I succeeded. I mustered up the courage to finally accomplish the big things on my to-do list....or at least start on them. I avoided them because they're just big problems waiting to happen. My biggest accomplishment of all today, and it's only the biggest because it's the biggest thing in my life right now, was to try my hand at food creations.

I've now begun trimester number 2! Woo!! They say morning sickness and food aversions are supposed to start getting better now. I seriously cannot wait. I've been extremely sick from day one. No joke! Mondays are days that I dread because it's the day before grocery shopping; the day when I go to the fridge and we're out of everything. No milk for cereal, no fruit, nothing. But I was able to make myself a delicious dinner.

You've heard my whining before, but I'm continuing on the same soap box. I NEED QUIZNOS! My craving is out of control. While raiding the empty fridge, I came across some tomatoes and another avocado. We had one slice of turkey and some cheese left. That sounded doable to me! I had to make my own honey mustard this time, but boy was it yummy. I'm just happy that this pregnancy I'm craving healthy...er...food. My last pregnancy I was craving fries and anything greasy. But I think it's because I was incredibly depressed, so I was eating away the guilt of the adoption. Anyway, I'm happy right now...for the next hour or so until my appetite returns.

I couldn't resist getting in that first bite once I cut it. :P
