Our Haunted House

I would like to dedicate this post to my new favorite website, Pinterest. My sister-in-law recently got me addicted, and I now spend most of my day browsing all of the amazing crafts and such that I wish I could do. I'm still plugging along, trying to win this decorating contest, so when I saw this idea on Pinterest, I knew it would be a perfect addition. I got a strand of white twinkle lights and a bunch of white cups. I drew all of the funny ghost faces that I could think of onto the cups and then stuck them onto the lights. I have to say, ADORABLE! They're even better when they're lit up. Already tonight, I've had lots of people stopping by to look at them, and lots of kids stopping to look at all of the different faces. In addition to my ghosties, I hung some orange and purple twinkle lights in the front window. Tomorrow I'm going to cover our front bushes with more webbing and huge, fake spiders, and cover the door in bright red "BEWARE!" tape. So far I've only spent about $2 on this whole thing.

As for the indoor decorations, I also have my mother to thank for its success.
These are my favorite inside decorations. Polka dots just do it for me.

One of my biggest accomplishments today was hanging the wooden cubes above the TV. What a perfect spot for my little Frankie!

In other, non-related Halloween news, please keep my sweet mother in your prayers. She had surgery on both of her feet today. She has a deformity that makes it so that her heel bone won't stop growing. It has completely inhibited the movement of her Achilles's tendon, causing it to scrape along jagged bone when she walks. Hopefully the doctors have permanently fixed the issue so that she can no longer be in excruciating pain. Tomorrow night I'm planning on going over to surprise her with a balloon (because that's what she always got me when I was a sick little kid), and paint her toenails like lady bugs. :D
