What Day Is It?

I didn't even realize what day it was until Ryan pointed it out. It's Love Letter Day! You know you're sick when 1) you have no sense of person, place, or time, and 2) when you even forget that it's your favorite day of the month. Ryan has been such an amazing hubby while I've been sick. Well, he's always been an amazing husband, but especially when I'm sick. It's odd to wake up in the morning to find that he made both our lunches, and to come home at night to find that he's pulled back the sheets and made me a little nest to jump into. That's the best! Today's love letter was, as always, adorable. :D

It's that fabulous time of month once more where I express my love and adoration for my most bestest friend, Nanny-doo! Guess what? I love you. Wanna know why? Well, tough! I don’t have to explain myself! I love you without question or reason. I love you without rhyme or… ehh… stuff. I love you lots and I will always say I love you lots. I think the phrase could really catch on in society today. We need some original romantic phrases. “I love you lots” is just simple and really clicks. Brilliant! I love you lots! I’d like to share a poem with you. This was written by someone else whose work I shall claim as my own. Thus, here is a poem I wrote for you:

You and I are connected
in a way that goes beyond romance,
beyond friendship,
beyond what we've ever had before.
It has defied time, distance,
and changes in ourselves
and in our lives.
It has defied every explanation.
Except one:
Pure and simply, we're soul mates.

I can't explain, I just feel it.
It's there in the way my spirits lift
whenever we talk.
The sound of your voice brings me home,
in a way I can't explain.
It's in the delight I feel, when we laugh
at exactly the same things.
When I'm with you,
it's like a tiny piece of the universe
shifts into place.
A place it's supposed to be,
and all is right with the world.

These things and so many more,
have made me understand
that this is a once in a lifetime,
forever connection.
A connection that could only exist
between you and me.
And deep in my soul,
I know that our relationship
is a rare gift.
One that brings us
extraordinary happiness
all through our lives.
