The last 7 days have been completely miserable! But today we saw a light at the end of the tunnel. We got home last night and were celebrating our new place, when Ryan decided to look for his social security card. No biggie. It should be in the important document bin. His office said that if he doesn't provide it by Wednesday, they'll fire him. So I went to the place where I keep birth certificates, SS cards, and passports...only to find that my card was there, but not Ryan's. I've come to the conclusion that this bin is the evil twin of the Bermuda Triangle. First we lose the marriage certificates, and now this. In our search for the card, we actually happened to find the marriage certificates. Are you kidding me?! Haha! Ryan was a wreck. New jobs, new townhouse, and we could lose it all if he gets fired because of this. To add the cherry on top, the people that we were planning on carpooling down to California with for our cruise, backed out of driving and just decided to fly. That left us stranded. We couldn't afford another $600 to throw into this trip. So we thought about it and decided to cancel. Can you say MAJOR LETDOWN?!Today may be the turning point of our luck though. My mom handles HR at her company, so she was able to tell us that we could substitute Ryan's passport for the social security card. And then he got a call from his parents saying that they had the card. PHEW! Then, during a normal vent session with my dad, he offered to pay for the plane tickets to get us to our cruise. How sweet is that? I literally only went to him just to talk. It didn't even cross my mind that he would pay, or maybe I could ask him. I think he knows how badly we've been needing this cruise...I've made it kind of obvious by how much I talk about it. haha! So the day has been saved, thanks to our parents! Parents are seriously the best!
