They Can Put A Man On The Moon...

Today made it very obvious that Ryan and I are both blonde...me especially. As you know, I've been having orange soda cravings. While we were at Walmart, I saw orange soda in a glass bottle and thought it was so cool. Little did we know, we had no way to open the stupid thing. At first I thought it was a twist top, but that didn't work. Then I tried using the bottle opener edge on the can opener. The bottle top was too little, and the opener couldn't catch onto it. Dang! My manly-man husband ran off to his tool box next. The hammer and wrenches didn't do anything. Dang! I then thought about how I've seen this cool move that people do in movies; the one where they put the bottle edge onto the counter and then pound it with their fist, causing the top to pop off. Well, I'm apparently not good at that move, and ended up chipping off a piece of the counter top. Haha! Oops! By then we'd spent 20 minutes on this stupid task, and I was getting really thirsty...Ryan was getting really irritated. He decided to take his hammer to the cap. In his attempt to puncture the cap, he ended up breaking off the top of the bottle. Dang! The only reason that I got the stupid thing was because it was in a bottle, so I decided to try to drink out of it anyway. Orange soda doesn't taste better with shards of glass in it. I actually ended up spilling it all down my shirt. The whole event was a huge disaster, but it was a disaster that kept me laughing. At one point, I found myself saying "they can put a man on the moon!" That comment made Ryan and I burst out laughing because our favorite comedian, Brian Regan, told a story about that saying. I've attached the video.

Chipping away at the top. You know you're Mormon when you can't even open a soda bottle. :P

Like I've said before, if it can be spilled, I will spill it on myself. Go me!

Other than that, today was nice and relaxing. Ryan surprised me with breakfast in bed. When I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought to myself was "I'm craving pancakes!" He seems to read my mind, because he brought me pancakes and eggs. I was touched at how sweet he was...until I got into the kitchen and saw the mess that he left me. :P He knows that I love to clean, and joked that he was just giving me something to do today.
