Painting Party!

Today was a day full of hard work, but FUN hard work. Ryan and I decided to help paint Aunt Paula's house with the rest of the family today. To our surprise, Grandma and Grandpa Moore came down from Wyoming to help out. I think we were considering this day as a bit of a family reunion. Everyone grabbed brushes and jumped right in. It was hot and humid, but I can honestly say that we had a blast. At one point, I was bending over to paint by the baseboards, and my bum nudged against the wall behind me. UH OH! There was a bum print on the wall, and a nice smudge of paint on me too. Ryan and I came prepared for the heat with our own drinks; Dr. Pepper and orange soda of course! MMMM! After a long, sweaty day of work, it was just what I needed. Everyone ran home to shower and change, and then Grandma and Grandpa took everyone out to dinner. I love spending time with my new family. They are all so sweet and funny. Usually MY family will get together, and it's a time full of chaos, so this was fun for me. I love Ryan's family!

I love that Aunt Karen took a picture of herself when I left my camera sitting around! SO CUTE!

I need to tell about something that happened last night. Junie thought my hair was a toy, and as she jumped up to grab it, she clawed my eye. She didn't just poke it, she grabbed my eyelid and tear duct with her claws and hung there for a few seconds. I was worried that she had scratched my eyeball because of how badly it burned. Ryan ran and got me a bag of ice to put on it while I determined if my eye was salvageable. :P I now have a few beautiful scratches on my eyelid, and my tear duct is swollen. My eyelid was bleeding, so Ryan volunteered to act as doctor. His solution? Band-aids! That's his answer to everything! I swear, when we have kids, he's gonna tell the doctor to just band-aid me up after the C-section. Sheesh! I only let him put them on my eye for the picture, but they came off shortly after...along with my eye lashes and eyebrow.

And yes, I am crying in the first picture. I would like to think it was just a reflex considering something just skewered my eye.
