Picky Eater

My little Lilly is quite the picky eater. She could not have gotten this from me. Getting her to eat meat is impossible, so I try to get her protein through beans, yogurt, and cheese. Seriously, what 2 year old doesn't like hotdogs and hamburgers?? If Ryan and I share a bite of our food, we usually try to hide a piece of meat in the bite, but she will ALWAYS find it and spit it out. So, imagine our surprise, when we went out to dinner at an Indian restaurant the other night, and she LOVED it. She gobbled up the spicy chicken puffs that came out first, then finished with a plate full of chicken masala and basmati rice. Is the problem that she's too sophisticated for the type of food we're feeding her?

The cherry on top is her new favorite saying. Out of the blue, she started saying "Yay-yay don't like it!" whenever we put food in front of her or tried to get her to eat something new. It's adorable and makes me laugh, but in reality, it's annoying. We've been reading "Green Eggs and Ham" to try and get her to try new things, but it's not really taking.

"Yay-yay don't yite it!"
