Today was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Ironically, I rolled over at 8 (I didn't have to babysit Joel today) and thought to myself, "today is going to be a good day!" I got up, got dressed, put on makeup (!!), and headed to the grocery store with Lilly. Despite my insistence that today be a good day, Ryan and I both just hated it. We've both been really down lately with lots of issues going on in our personal lives. I decided to try and cheer Ryan up by making him cookies.
It started off like any other baking adventure of mine. I decided to make a double batch to share with my step-dad. All went well, and I had several dozen cookies cooling off on the counter. I sat down in the living room for a bit, not noticing that Lilly had wandered into the kitchen and had been in there for a bit. Looking back, I realize now that it was too quiet. Suddenly, she came running out of the kitchen all excitedly with a cookie in her hand. It took me a second to realize that 1) I didn't give it to her, and 2) there weren't any cookies anywhere where she could reach. Without thinking, I whipped out my camera to record the discovery of how she got the cookie.
Suffice it to say, I let her keep the cookie, since she worked so hard to get it. She was COVERED in chocolate. I about forgot that I had nice, new chairs within reach of her chocolaty fingers, so I ended up locking her in the high chair until she finished. She literally had chocolate behind and IN her ears. I look forward to telling her about this one day.

I stupidly left the pantry door open. She pulled out the oil and all of the ziplock bags. Oh well, she had fun.

Naughty girl learned that she could step up on the bottom handle and pull herself up with the top handle. Didn't go so well when she grabbed the (cool) cookie sheet and nearly lost a dozen cookies.

I think it's safe to say she REALLY wanted a cookie

And she got one! Never give a baby a still-warm cookie.

Kid you not, I had to clean chocolate out of her ear

This was me looking over and realizing she had a cookie and having NO idea how she got it. I half expected to walk into the kitchen to find cookies all over the floor.
As if Lilly making animal noises wasn't cute enough, we added a chocolately face to sweeten things up. (haha!). She's getting so good at remembering what animals say....Ryan taught her the dragon, but before she "rawrs," she sings the "Dragon Tales" theme song.
While we waited for the cookies to bake, Lilly put her bear-bear to "nigh-nigh" in the bottom shelf of the clock. She is so stinkin' cute with her bear, I can't stand it!! Oh, and she blows kisses for me at the end. (And yes, the clock is screwed to the wall)
More bear-bear cuteness. She, by her own doing, put bear-bear into the stroller and pushed him up and down the hallway.

But apparently she was sad that she couldn't hold him, so she struggled to hold him with one hand and push the stroller with the other.
