Passed Out

I swear today was the longest day of my whole life!! I got up with Ryan at 7 and dropped him off at work. Then I ran home and started chores until about 10. After Lilly's breakfast, I got her dressed and headed out the door for errands. I felt bad, because 10 is her nap time, but I had so much to do, I just had to get started on it. I ran to my mom's, picked up her and Paisley, ran to Costco, UPS, dropped them back off at her house, ran to Old Navy, Carters, Walmart, the bank, Kohl's (and I was returning stuff at each of these stores, not buying anything, mind you), and then to the grocery store. It was only a few minutes drive between each stop, but Lilly managed to fall asleep each time. I felt terrible every time that I had to wake her up. I even tried making her a bed in the bottom of the shopping cart, but she was too awake by that point and only wanted to play. I'm happy to say that we survived the day of shopping, regardless of no naps.

I was only home for about 30 minutes when I changed into my gym gear and ran out the door to meet Ryan at the gym. He works right next door to Gold's Gym, so he just walked. I was really nervous about leaving Lilly at the daycare there. I didn't know if she would have separation anxiety and cry the whole time, but I got there and the second we went into the play room, she wanted to be put down. I put her down and she ran over to all of the kids. One little girl ran right up to her and gave her a hug. The daycare worker said "wow, looks like she's going to be the popular girl." I just wanted to stay and watch. She looked so happy! Knowing that she was having fun made it a lot easier for me to focus on my workout. I did the elliptical, the stair stepper (I forgot how much I hated that dang thing), the bike, and arms. About an hour total. I was excited to go and pick up Lilly.

Before going into the daycare, I peeked in to see what Lilly was doing. She was sitting alone at a miniature kiddie couch, playing with a toy. It was so precious. I asked if she had sat down by herself or been put there, and they said that she wandered over and plopped right down. She adored it there! What a relief! As we were walking out to the car, Ryan mentioned that he thought he overdid his workout and that he didn't feel so good. I offered to drive, just in case. He reclined the passenger seat back and focused on deep breaths. I only got 1 block away from the gym when I looked over and saw the most terrifying thing I think I've ever seen. Ryan had passed out, was white as a ghost, was convulsing, and making a loud groaning noise. I pulled over the car, started yelling his name, shaking him, and pounding on his chest to wake him up. He looked dead. I grabbed my phone and started to dial 911, but right then he came to. It was seriously so scary. He was so white, I couldn't tell the difference between the color of his skin and his teeth. He said he didn't remember anything and that as he came to, he heard me calling his name. His extremities were numb, too. I didn't let him carry Lilly inside once we got home. My main priority was getting him to relax and eat. I made him plop down on the couch, and cooked him dinner. He seems to be doing okay now, but I think I'm going to be the nagging wife and make him talk to a doctor.

Anyway, we're all home now. Lilly is finally getting her much-needed sleep. I'm going to go take a shower. And Ryan isn't allowed out of bed. Nighty night!

Playing "where's the baby?" instead of napping

So sleepy!

Her favorite thing to do is to reach back behind her, grab something from the cart, and then drop it. Is this not the guiltiest face you've ever seen?....as she's dropping a box of nails....

"Okay, bye, mom!"
