Yesterday was a very confusing day for me. I got up at 6:45 when Ryan's alarm went off, and just decided that I should get a start on my day. I immediately tore the bed apart and cleaned the sheets. Lilly was still sleeping, so I was able to get a lot done before she woke up. We had a busy day of playing together, eating snacks, and chatting while mommy cleaned.
Once lunch came around, I plopped Lilly in her highchair, but I noticed that she was all squirmy and uncomfortable. I only got two bites into feeding her before she was screaming in pain. She has such a terrible diaper rash from teething. She can't even sit because it hurts so badly. So I decided to be creative. Lilly ended up having her lunch in the bathtub. Easier said than done, let me tell ya! She was crawling all over the place, standing to play with the faucet, she finally discovered the basket of toys in the corner, and randomly, she liked to dunk her head in the water. I'm lucky I got any food into her mouth.
When Ryan got home from work, we went to Kohl's with my mom again. She had more Kohl's cash that needed to be spent, and she offered to buy Ryan some nice pants for work. By this point, I was having a great day. But then I got a phone call that ruined it all..oh, and it definitely wasn't an April Fool's prank call, as much as I wish it was. While mom and Ryan browsed pants, I cried on a pile of shorts, trying not to lose it in the store. Thankfully my Lilly-bug was there, because seeing her big smile cheered me right up. She loved getting to see herself in the mirrors, so we just parked her there and let her play and dance.
Watching Elmo with her Elmo
And apparently some Elmo yoga
I literally walked into the kitchen to put a dish in the dishwasher, and in that short amount of time, she had managed to grab the box of Teddy Grahams off the couch and fling them everywhere.
I got a pleasant surprise when I got the mail. Grandma Griffin sent Lilly two books for Easter.
It's one of those books that has real fur to touch, so once I showed her how to pet the animals, that's all she wanted to do.
I was pretty proud of this find. 80% clearance, PLUS we had a coupon for another 20% off. Ryan sure does look handsome today.
