Every Good Thing Must Come To An End

The title of this post is a lie. I'm referring to the Twilight series finally being done, but saying that it's "good" is a lie. There was a time (before the movies came out) that I was "that" teenage girl, completely in love with the series. I would take my books with me to the gym and read while I was doing my 45 minutes on the elliptical. I can honestly say that I read all 4 books at least 100 times each (yeah, I was working out a lot back then). So, as you can imagine, when I heard that they were being made into movies, I was vowing to be the first in line.

Well, the first movie was a disaster, and let's just be honest, they haven't gotten much better. My goodness those people can't act. And the special effects look like something a 3rd grader did. I'm just saying that if they had gotten someone like, hmm, let's say whoever did Harry Potter, they could have been amazing! Anyway, last night continued on mine and my mom's tradition of going to see the movie together. We get free tickets to go to the premiere every year (thank goodness, because I would feel guilty actually spending money on those). I left my baby vampire at home with Ryan and headed over. We go early, get some dinner, and wait in the theater to see if we win the before-movie raffle. The first year, we actually won a digital picture frame. Nothing since.

Here's my movie review: I thought the last 30 minutes of the movie were genius, but up until that point, I found myself laughing and thinking "you have got to be kidding me" at some of the special effects. Tricky. That's the word that I would use to describe this movie. I had my cake and ate it too, so to speak. You'll know what I mean if you've seen it. But I'm glad they're over. I really hope that one day a better director takes on the series, because they had so much potential. Hmm, maybe I should be that person! Ha! I'll just try and forget how the movies have disgraced such an amazing series. I'm staying true to the books. 

As always, I'm wearing my "I'm with the vampires" shirt. And I'm sporting some very appropriate red eyes. This was a last minute "oh! We need to take a picture" moment.
