Wingtastic

As I write this, I'm fighting the urge to give into my food coma. Ryan and I treated ourselves to a night at Buffalo Wild Wings, so that Ryan could enjoy their half off boneless wing special. I prefer the traditional bone-in wings, so tonight was for Ryan. We dropped Lilly off at my mom's so that we could actually eat in peace. And I'm glad we did. We both ordered our usual sauces, Ryan tried something a bit spicier than he's used to, but only because everything he got the last time we were there was too lack-luster for him. This coming from a man who thinks anything spicier than ketchup is too hot. I was proud of him for going outside of his comfort zone...until we got our food. For some reason, the sauce coats and sticks to the boneless wings more than it does on traditional wings. Instead of enjoying each other's company while we nibbled away, we felt like we were in a spicy wing contest, pushing each other through each bite. They were so hot! Even I had a hard time with mine. Not only were they spicy-hot, they were temperature-hot. A bad combo! I got two different sauces and Ryan got three. I spent most of the time there trying to keep up endurance while I ate through my first sauce. We were both sweating, had runny noses, and our waiter couldn't refill our drinks fast enough. Buncha pansies we are! We made it through, and both vowed that we would order the tame stuff any time we decided to go for boneless wings in the future. For some reason, the sauces, no matter how spicy, don't bother me when they're on the traditional wings. It was quite the experience...one I would not like to have again. I don't feel so good....

Other than that, today was nice and relaxing. For the past 4 nights, Lilly has slept for 11 hours straight! We put her to bed at 8, and she gets up at 7:30, and if we're lucky, 8:00. Today she woke up at 8, I fed her, and then we both fell back asleep until 11. I fed her again and then decided to force myself to workout. I was still tired, but I knew that with tonight's date night, I'd need all the help I could get. I was able to do 30 minutes on the elliptical and 100 sit ups. Then I decided that I actually wanted to look pretty for our date, so while Lilly talked to the ceiling, I did my hair. Wait for it....I tried something I saw on Pinterest. It's a crown braid. I am SO terrible at french braiding...well, I'm terrible at doing hair, period. I gave it my best effort, and after 4 attempts, was able to conquer the braid. I need to start practicing for when Lilly has hair.

Look at how much sauce there is!!

I will be trying many different braids in the coming weeks. Practice makes perfect.
