Treasures

Ryan made the always-funny husbandly mistake today when he told me that I could take Lilly shopping. "Just buy her some outfits or something...have fun!" he said. Oh, I did! Lilly has way more outfits than she knows what to do with, so I opted to buy something that I, err, SHE wanted...yeah, SHE wanted it. The nursery desperately needed a cute shelf. I envisioned putting some of the baby mementos that we've collected up for display, so that was the goal of today's shopping trip. Walmart struck out when I discovered that they didn't have a single shelf in the entire store. Really, Walmart, really? It's okay, Target's stuff is way cuter anyway. Ryan may have made the mistake of giving me permission to spend money, but I made the rookie mistake of wandering down unplanned aisles. Thinking I had found the aisle with shelves, I wandered down, only to find a whole bunch of other stuff that I "needed." It just so happened to be the home decor clearance aisle. I fell in love with an adorable lamp shade that matched our color scheme perfectly. It was on clearance, how could I say no? I walked out with the lamp shade (I was tempted to buy two, but I miraculously refrained), an adorable shelf for the nursery, and a matching picture frame for said shelf. We had a straggler 5X7 newborn picture that needed a frame, so I caved. I raced home to start my decorating madness. I have to say, I love the new additions to our lovely home.

Isn't it just perfect?
