Got Food?

My "drug" of choice always has been and will always be food. It's all part of being fat and depressed. My motto is "food can make everything better." As Ryan stated in an earlier post, he can always make me happy with food. Well, the story behind that is this: early on in our marriage, I felt like Ryan deserved a hint behind the inner workings of Nanny. Just like most women, I'm confusing and hard to read. I told Ryan that he would probably have an easier time getting me to accept apologies and perk up if he brought food with his apologies. These were my words: "don't ever apologize without food". Well, he learned quickly, and ever since, every apology has been accompanied by food. Whether it be as small as a piece of chocolate or as large as a burger. It works every time! :P

Without my asking, today kept with tradition of food making everything in my world right again. Yesterday being a bad day, carried into today being even worse. It seemed like fate just wanted to say "sorry". It started off with breakfast. I ran out the door this morning and forgot my breakfast, so I was pleasantly surprised when someone brought in doughnuts. Then my mom ran out to grab all the girls a drink at Sonic, and she came back with tator tots and fry sauce for me. THEN, I had a lunch date with my favorite person ever! My sister-in-law! THEN Ryan and I went out for a date night. If I wasn't happy by this point, I don't know what could have made me feel better. And I wouldn't be surprised if I gained 25 pounds from today. So thank you to all of my friends and family who subconsciously made my day a little better.

On a side note, I've decided to start calling the baby "my fishy". She kicks when she's hungry and then as soon as I eat, she goes crazy. It reminds me of feeding fish. Just sprinkle in a little food, and they go crazy trying to eat it all up. So not only am I happy and full, so is momma's little fishy.
