Birthmom's Day usually falls on the Friday before Mother's Day, so today me and all my fellow birthmoms are celebrating! Last night I got the most amazing Birthmom's Day gift from Easton's parents. I was so excited to open it! It contained a hand-made flower bouquet (pun intended), 4 magnets with some of my favorite pictures of Easton, and a bunch of adorable spring pictures of Easton. I cried when I opened it. I'm so thankful that I picked Karlee & Nate to be Easton's parents, and for the fact that they are so open with me about Easton.
I'm thankful for my decision about adoption and for where it's gotten me in life. Sometimes the hardest decisions give the biggest blessings. I truly believe that. I will always celebrate Birthmom's Day, and I will always think about how amazing my little boy is. I love him with all my heart!

(Just FYI, this outfit would have been PERFECT for our wedding!)
"He is mine in a way that he will never be hers, yet he is hers in a way that he will never be mine, and so together, we are motherhood"

(Day 17)
Happy Birthmothers Day Natalie! I know that Easton's mommy and daddy will forever be grateful for your amazing sacrifice. It may not always be easy to live your life apart from him, but you are blessed with peace that he is where he should be!
ReplyDeleteYou are strong, beautiful and amazing Nat!
oxoxo
PS...he is darling!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry we couldn't go to the dinner celebration, babe! I would much rather have gone there instead of dealing with the first day of grad classes...
