Crazy Craft Time

My latest projects have been a little slow-coming. I started in the kitchen with the addition of some of the lanterns from our wedding reception. The kitchen definitely needed a pop of our aqua blue. I hung them above the bar, kind of separating the living room and kitchen. My craftiness then moved to the bedroom, where we finally hung the handmade quilt by Ryan's mother. It's SO amazing. I couldn't stand to let it sit on our bed and get ruined by our sweet little kitty.

I also had the guts to try spray painting my lamp. It started off hot pink, and now, it too is aqua blue. I even went as far as to cover the hot pink interior of the lamp shade with brown polka dots.

Above the window, I hung a wall sticker that my mom gave me for my birthday. It says "When I count my blessings, I count you twice." Of course it couldn't be as easy as sticking a sticker. The sticker didn't want to come off of its backing, so I had to remove each letter one-by-one and stick them on myself. It took me an hour and a lot of "are you kidding me!!"'s and "Oh come on!!"'s

And finally, I ended today with the living room. We received our 16X20 wedding picture, and it seemed a bit smaller than I expected it to be. I had a custom "Goodrich" sign made, so I figured we needed a shelf to put everything on. I even went as far as to convince myself that the shelf would be a fun way to decorate during the holidays. Well, we found TWO shelves with cute scrolly brackets. I LOVE our living room now. We bought a new, full-sized couch that's brown, so once that moves in, we'll be all nice and cozy.
